Living in a toy town

It was my first thought when I arrived in Zurich for the first time and I still think it´s true: this city is actually a toy town. The hustle and bustle, the little big houses, the trains and trams, the lights and lamp posts—it just feels like living on a model railway. When I was little, I always imagined myself walking through the streets of my miniature railway, a strange fascination that still captures me when I look at miniature models like the ones I saw in Hamburg last summer. A dream becomes true.

I walked up to the Lindenhof and took some photos of the hustle and bustle along the river Limmat. Having modified the depth of field in Photoshop, you can see what I mean when I talk about the toy town.

  1. Hey, das ist ja wirklich wie Eisenbahnlandschaft - so nenne ich es immer. Und mich fasziniert das ebenso. Deshalb habe ich mir auch immer ein Puppenhaus gewünscht...
